Brehm’s post begins: “Tell me what you think:

“Subject: George Floyd – a staged event?”

The body of the post reads:

“These officers were involved in something, I’m not sure exactly what, but something is just not adding up.

“Also this supposed officer is now missing from his home, no where to be found has the smell of MK Ultra activation.

“I think that there is at the very least the `possibility’, that this was a filmed public execution of a black man by a white cop, with the purpose of creating racial tensions and driving a wedge in the growing group of anti deep state sentiment from common people, that have been already been psychologically traumatized by COVID 19 fears.

“Historically, in election years and politically contested areas or groups, racial or gun violence incidents are becoming common place.

“Considering the rising approval level of President Trump in the black community an event like this was entirely `Predictable'”

MK Ultra is a reference to CIA mind control experiments that were conducted for 20 years between 1953 and 1973.

After posting the screen grab, Garcia confirmed in a tweet that, “I got it from her Facebook page this morning. She apparently deleted it this afternoon.”

U.S. Rep. Chip Roy, R-Austin, who represents the 21st Congressional District, which includes part of Bexar County, replied to the tweet that if it was an accurate representation of what Brehm had written, “she should resign.”

Travis County Republican Party Chairman Matt Mackowiak also tweeted, “She must resign now.”

“She has been an embarrassment for 2 years,” Mackowiak wrote.

“With this deleted FB post,” he wrote, “she is now an embarrassment to the @TexasGOP.”

Brehm made headlines at a May 22 press conference on the steps of San Antonio City Hall, when she addressed the pandemic:

“Why is this happening today? And I’ll tell you why: all of this has been promulgated by the Democrats to undo all the good President Trump has done for our country — and they are worried. So, take off your masks, exercise your constitutional rights. Stand up, speak up and vote Republican.”

In her on-line campaign bio, Brehm describes herself as “a Christian, a retired Army wife, a grandmother, a community activist, and a public servant.”

According to the bio she is a descendant of Canary Islanders that settled San Antonio in 1731 and her “ten-times grandfather, Juan Leal Goraz, was the first mayor of San Antonio.”

In his tweet, Mackowiak called on Bexar County Republicans to defeat Brehm by voting for John Austin in the July 14 runoff for chair. In the March 3 primary, Brehm received 33% of the vote to 31% for Austin.

Travis County Republicans know something about being embarrassed by an elected chairman.

In the March 2016 Republican primary, Robert Morrow, an Austin conspiracy theorist, defeated Travis County Republican Chairman James Dickey and presided over the county party wearing a jester’s hat. Dickey eventually regained the chairmanship and went on to be elected Texas GOP chairman, a post he still holds but that is being contested at the Republican State Convention in July. Mackowiak succeeded Dickey as Travis County chair.
