In continuation of her engagement with key stakeholders in preparation for the forthcoming general elections, Lagos State First Lady, Dr. (Mrs.) Claudiana Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu met with female candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and female professionals in Lagos State at Lagos House, Alausa, Ikeja yesterday.
According to her, “Lagos has always set the right example for the equitable participation of women in politics and governance. Today, we have women in strategic positions in the State Executive Council, Ministries, Commissions, Departments, and Agencies of government.
“More female professionals in diverse fields of human endeavor are encouraged to participate in the electioneering and political process. It’s in our collective interest for all stakeholders to get involved.”
She said it was important for women to uplift other women, especially the women that have the courage to put themselves forward for elective offices.
“For us, our candidates remain Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the presidential election to engender a renewed hope for Nigeria; Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu to foster a greater Lagos rising; and indeed all APC candidates to deepen and fast-track development in our state and country,” she said.
